Br. Aravind Balasubramanya
Brother Aravind comes from a family devoted to Swami since the early 1960s. A gold medalist from the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning, he also holds an M.S. in Chemistry and an MBA. He served with Radio Sai from 2007 to 2021, has authored five books on Swami, and had the rare privilege of serving as Swami’s personal photographer for nearly five years.
He is presently part of the SSSIO Digital Media team and mentors Young Adults, sharing Swami’s message through stories, books, photographs, and heartfelt talks.

Dr. Joe Phaneuf, MD
Dr. Joe Phaneuf is a board-certified dermatologist who has practiced since 1982. He served as Chief of Medical Staff Education at San Leandro Hospital and as a communication consultant for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California.
Within SSSIO, Dr. Phaneuf serves as Chair of the USA Medical Committee, National Young Adult Male Advisor, and Medical Director of the Ashland Free Medical Clinic—the first SSSIO free medical clinic in the United States, which he founded in 2005.
His decades of service reflect a life devoted to putting Swami’s message into practice through medicine, compassionate care, spiritual leadership, and mentoring.
